The Babysitting Course is targeted at youth aged 11-16, and requires no prior training. The in-person program runs at our Barrie & Bracebridge training centres.
The online version can be taken from anywhere in Canada on any device with an internet connection. It is also a great course for kids who will be staying home alone, as they will learn valuable safety and first aid skills.
For the health and safety of all participants, please avoid sending children with snacks that contain peanuts or tree nuts.
Please advise of any food allergies or sensitivities by calling or emailing our office upon registration.
Recommended: Water and a notebook.

We suggest between the ages of 11 - 16.
In Canada there is no legal minimum age to be allowed to babysit.
Many children begin learning babysitting skills around age 11 or 12, while they gain experience staying home alone or helping care for younger siblings. Most children begin babysitting independently around age 12, although readiness depends on maturity, comfort and experience.
The in-person course is a full day of instructor-led, hands-on training at our Barrie or Bracebridge training centres.
The online course is 100% self-paced, approximately 5 hours, and available from anywhere in Canada.

Parents are not required to stay. Drop-off and pick-up instructions are provided upon registration.
The online version is available in French as Cours de Gardiennage. The in-person course is currently offered in English only.
