Who Should Take This Course
The Babysitting Course is targeted at youth aged 11-16, and requires no prior training. The in-person program runs at our Barrie & Bracebridge training centres.
The online version can be taken from anywhere in Canada on any device with an internet connection. It is also a great course for kids who will be staying home alone, as they will learn valuable safety and first aid skills.

How do I access the online course?
We will provide you with access to your online course within 24-48 hours by email. Please ensure your email address provided with your order is correct.

What age is appropriate for the Babysitting Course?
We suggest between the ages of 11 - 16.
In Canada there is no legal minimum age to be allowed to babysit.
Many children begin learning babysitting skills around age 11 or 12, while they gain experience staying home alone or helping care for younger siblings. Most children begin babysitting independently around age 12, although readiness depends on maturity, comfort and experience.
What is the difference between in-person and online?
The in-person course is a full day of instructor-led, hands-on training at our Barrie or Bracebridge training centres.
The online course is 100% self-paced, approximately 5 hours, and available from anywhere in Canada.
Does the certificate expire?
No. The Babysitting Certificate does not expire.
Do parents need to stay during in-person training?
No.
Parents are not required to stay. Drop-off and pick-up instructions are provided upon registration.
Is the course available in French?
The online version is available in French as Cours de Gardiennage. The in-person course is currently offered in English only.
What if the course date I want is full?
Contact us to be put on a waitlist. We occasionally run additional courses on the same day if there is enough demand.
Can schools or organizations book private group training?
Yes. We offer private group sessions for schools and organizations at our training centres or at your location. Contact us to book!
How long do I have access to the online course?
The online course license provides access for one year from the day the course is started.
Can I use my phone to take the online course?
Yes, however we suggest using a desktop, laptop, or tablet for the best user experience.
