Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is the support provided to a person who may be experiencing a decline in their mental well-being or a mental health crisis. The course teaches you to recognize signs, provide initial support, and guide someone toward professional help. It is offered in partnership through the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
The certification is issued through the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Action First Aid delivers the program through certified MHFA instructors as part of Action Total Health.
The MHFA certification is valid for 3 years from the date of completion.
No. The course is designed for the general public. No prior mental health training or medical background is required.
In-person is a 2-day instructor-led program offered at our training centres or your location.
The virtual program in instructor-led over Zoom and is also a 2 day program.
