CLOSER AED ACCESS MATTERS
80% of Cardiac Arrests Happen at Home
When cardiac arrest happens, every minute matters. With approximately 80% of cardiac arrests occurring at home, having an AED nearby could mean helping someone you know and love.
The goal is to get an AED to someone experiencing cardiac arrest within 3 minutes. A neighbourhood SaveStation provides 24/7 public access to lifesaving equipment, helping put an AED closer to where people live and where cardiac arrests are most likely to happen.
EMS targeted response time is typically between 6-8 minutes in urban areas.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do we start a Neighbourhood Defibrillator Program?
Contact us to discover the best SaveStation solution for your placement. From there, you can involve your neighbours, determine the best location and raise funds together. Our team can help guide you through the process.
Where should we place our neighbourhood SaveStation?
Choose a location that is easy for neighbours to see and access 24/7. Depending on your community, a SaveStation can be installed at a home, cottage, community entrance, shared recreation area or other central location.
Can our neighbourhood raise money together for the AED and SaveStation?
Yes. Many communities fund their SaveStation together. Neighbours can contribute toward the cost, or a local business, association or community member may choose to sponsor all or part of the program. SaveStation provides a Crowdfunding Platform for this exact purpose.
Will the AED be protected outside year-round?
Yes. SaveStation outdoor cabinets are designed to help keep AEDs within their operating temperature range through Canadian weather. Different models offer features including heating, ventilation and monitoring.
Do you provide support after our SaveStation is installed?
Yes. We can help with AED readiness, replacement supplies, education and ongoing resources to help your community stay prepared.
